About the Role
As a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner, you will take a more active role in supporting children’s learning and development, planning activities, and contributing to the overall running of the room. You will act as a key person for a group of children, ensuring their individual needs are met.
Responsibilities & Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
Act as a key person for assigned children, tracking their progress and development
Complete observations, assessments, and learning journals
Support children’s emotional, social, and educational development
Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare standards are always maintained
Work closely with parents and carers to support children’s progress
Support and mentor Level 2 staff and apprentices where appropriate
Contribute to room planning, displays, and learning environments
Requirements
Level 3 NVQ in Childcare / Early Years Educator or equivalent
Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Ability to plan and assess children’s learning
Strong communication and leadership skills within a team setting
Desirable
Experience as a key person in a nursery setting
First Aid qualification
Experience supporting or mentoring junior staff
