About the Role
As a Nursery Deputy Manager, you will support the Nursery Manager in the overall running of the setting. You will take a leadership role in ensuring high standards of care, compliance, staffing, and curriculum delivery across the nursery.
Responsibilities & Requirements
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Nursery Manager with day-to-day operations
• Oversee staff performance, supervision, and development
• Ensure EYFS standards and safeguarding requirements are met
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and staff training
• Monitor planning, observations, and learning outcomes across rooms
• Step in as Manager when required
• Maintain strong relationships with parents, staff, and external agencies
• Support Ofsted preparation and inspections
• Manage health & safety and compliance procedures
Requirements
• Level 3 or above in Early Years (Level 5 preferred)
• Strong leadership experience in a nursery setting
• In-depth knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and compliance
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Experience supervising or managing staff
